According to a 2019 report by the AGA, women make up only 12% of executive-level positions at casinos. This disparity is attributed to various factors, including lack of mentorship, limited opportunities for advancement, and bias in hiring practices.

"We still have a long way to go in terms of achieving parity," says Susan Millerick, Vice President of Marketing Communications at the AGA. "We need to do a better job of promoting women into leadership positions and providing them with the tools and resources they need to succeed."

Creating Opportunities for Women: Initiatives and Programs

Several initiatives and programs have been established within the casino industry to promote women’s advancement and address existing challenges.

Caesars Entertainment, for example, has launched a Diversity and Inclusion initiative aimed at increasing diversity in hiring practices and promoting career development opportunities for underrepresented groups. The company also offers mentorship programs, leadership training, and networking events to support female employees.

Pinnacle Entertainment has implemented similar initiatives, including women’s networking groups and leadership development programs. "We believe that by creating opportunities for women to grow and develop within our organization, we’ll be better positioned to drive business results," says Silveria.
